Smokey Quartz Crystal Properties:
Smokey quartz is a stong and powerful stone. Known for grounding and cleansing purposes. It builds a reconnection to the earth and life giving soil. This scared stone is signified to hold potent darker power of earth gods and goddesses. Grounding us physically and spiritually for clear thoughts and decisions.
Smokey quartz is known for transmuting negative energy from our surroundings and ourselves, and then channeling it back into the earth to become neutral energy and reborn once more. Smokey Quartz shields us from negativity trying to penetrate our aura, our homes and sacred spaces. It shields against hostility, gossip, stress, anxiety, panic attacks and absorbs misfortune, sorrow and hostile vibrational frequencies.
Working with this crystal for Samhain was so important for us! It was to help ourselves and others with their direction for the New Year to come. Working with grounding ourselves, letting go of old, past habits that no longer serve us and grow from a solid foundation for the New Year.
S A M H A I N marks is the end of the harvest season and also known as the Witches/Celtic New Years Eve. There is a strong folklore and history of this Gaelic festival to honour our ancestors that came before us. Originating in Ireland (Pre-christian influence) it marks the time we say goodbye to the sunlight and summer days and welcome the darkness.
Sunset on Samhain is the beginning of the Celtic New Year. The old year has passed, the harvest has been gathered, cattle and sheep have been brought in from the fields, and the leaves have fallen from the trees. The earth slowly begins to die around us.
This is a good time for us to look at wrapping up the old and preparing for the new in our lives. Think about the things you did in the last twelve months. Have you left anything unresolved? If so, now is the time to wrap things up. Once you’ve gotten all that unfinished stuff cleared away, and out of your life, then you can begin looking towards the next year.
